Happy Harry Potter Day!

Just a brief squib (sorry, no offense meant!):

I reserved my copy of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows a couple of months ago. I decided against going to the Midnight Event, and it turns out that I was wise to have avoided it: I was told by one who was in line this morning (out of the twenty or so there) that he had waited for three hours, only to be told, like many others, that the store was closing and that they would have to come back the next day.

The only spoiler I plan on giving is that the book is 750 pages long. So far, I have gotten to page 220. The rest of the day will be spent, however, at the wedding of one of my favorite nephews in Malibu. Other than that, I plan on dropping off the face of the planet and reading the rest.

And thank you, Joanne Rowling, for introducing so many of us Muggles to this world, and getting so many kids reading again.
